My recently acquired BG 1202 runs slow. 1 min and 9 sec to perform 33 revolves. Also, it takes a minute before it starts spinning. After scanning this forum I suspect that it has to do with the motor and the lubrication. My question is: Might the speed increase over time if I let it run for some hours, e.g. will the old lubrication soften. I tried this

The 5500 was my first Beo system as well. I still use it every day. Nowadays I use s80.2 speakers in the main room and cx50 in a link room. I am quite satisfied with the s80.2, after refoaming them. You can get these speakers pretty cheap from ebay, you probably need to refoam them. However, also the cheaper redlines will probably need some care before

I have the same problem now and then with a BG4002. A gentle push to the right on the tonearm when in raised position solves the problem for me. However, I do not use the deck on a regular basis due to some ground noise not yet solved.
