Doc: Can the DVDplayer of the BV7 be opened by remote (Beo4/5)? I have thought this would be a useful option for my DVD1 (via Beo4) but on reflection why? If you require the tray to be opened/closed surely you must have either just placed a disc in or want to remove it. In both cases you will be in front of the unit and able to press 'eject'

Piaf: Is the Beolink 1000 the correct remote for the Beomaster 4500? Short question, but I'd love the answer. Thanks. Jeff Yes! However, although the Beo4 will control almost all the functions of the 4500, you cannot programme the radio tuning functions such as auto and manual tuning via the Beo4. For this you need the 1000.

Piaf: I just acquired a Beomaster 4500 and the sound that it produces is truly outstanding. Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but when attempting to program the FM stations I have to push on the Beomaster with all my might to get it to respond…. and then when it does, more often than not it is for the next station. Frustrating! Thank goodness

On eBay there is a product being sold from Germany which the company calls a 'Light Manager' which will it is claimed will provide the same functions as the old LC2 and is controllable by the Beo4. They are sold as new. Anyone know anything about them and importantly, whether they are a viable alternative to the LC2?

Graeme: jandyt: Regarding Beolab 9 and children. The Penguin's mouth looks a great place to shove a purple crayon..... Andy T. And a half eaten slice of toast, a drink carton straw, a plastic cow boy figure hat, a malteser and a sheet of paper. Items I found in my video player after a two week trip away when my son was about 4. When my kids were

I downloaded the DVD 1 user guide from the B&O site and it appears to suggest menu facilities which are not shown in the User guide provided with my unit - for example Picture Menu, Sound Menu, Functions menu. Following the instructions in the downloaded guide to access these menus on my DVD 1 has no effect. I am assuming that this is because they

Looks good. But why the cable up and over rather than down and under? It would be less visible underneath than on the top as it is currently. Perhaps because you have to pass the cable behind the player? Is this possible without spoiling the appearance? Intended to be a constructive comment!

I'm sure those with much more knowledge than me will have the proper answer, but when I had an LX TV + beolink 1000 I had a cable link to my B&O stereo system and the AV button was used to transfer the sound from the TV to this system and thereby listen to TV (mostly music broadcasts) via the stereo system. If you want to use a DVD player then
