  • Re: Where does your digital media come from?

All the music is bought on CD, then ripped, and the CD is stored for safe keeping. TV shows & Blu-Ray rips are got from Usenet, bit torrent and the rest of the P2P software is too time consuming, and now usually blocked/throttled by the ISP. A typical TV show (eg the season finale of Battlestar Galactica tonight ) from usenet will only take 5+ or

  • Re: Your next purchase?

I would love to replace my BL8000s, currently they are acting as the front speakers for the BV7, and in my (humble) opinion they are towering over the TV (well, the TV is on the motorised table stand). So I would love to go for the BL3 for both front & rear, and have a really nice surround system... or maybe BL9 for the front and BL3 for the rear

  • Re: Digital Media solution: player, streamer, media center?

My solution is using a PS3 connected to a QNap TS-409 NAS [www.qnap.com/pro_detail_feature.asp?p_id=86] (3TB in RAID5). The QNap is a DLNA/UPnP device, and has Twonky media server built in, so can stream Video/Audio to a another computer, console or media device, it also has an iTunes Server built in (for my other computers which use iTunes for the

  • Re: BV-7 40 MkIII software

Is there any word yet on a fix for the "white flash", or will I just give up asking, and pretend I don't see it anymore...

  • Re: Latest Sw for Beovision 7-40 Mark III

Has the latest software definitely fixed the white flashing issue with 1080p content. I just bought a PS3 at the weekend and have indeed spotted this problem with Blu-Rays, 1080p based games and up-scaled media from the NAS. It is a tad annoying, but sometimes I forget about it after a while (maybe I just tune it out). I only ask this because the dealer

  • Re: Sky+ problem

Keith Saunders: The problem is almost certainly caused by the fact that the dealer/you did not put a delay into the command string, hence why it misses the centre number. add a 200ms delay after the first and second number Humph, that probably explains why my Beo5 wont switch to BBC3 (Ch. 115). But then after an hours drive to the dealer to find out

  • Re: Is BV7 Beovision sold without speaker in US?

jk1002: However when looking at the different stand and mounting options, there is no good way to cover the bracket/whole where the speaker would be attached. So why I find it a very tempting option I think its back to the BV8 for me. Well seeing as the BeoLab7-2 sits on a kind of mini-shelf, maybe you could make/buy some sort of shelf expansion that

  • Re: Is BV7 Beovision sold without speaker in US?

When I bought mine, the floor stand would be to big for my room, so I got the motorised table stand. This meant no BeoLab7-4, like you I thought the BeoLab7-2 was too big for the screen, but honestly, after a week or so it just sort of fades into the background, and just becomes part of the screen, and not very noticeable, well I think so anyway...

  • Re: Perplexing BV7-40 PS3 problem

moxxey: The answer, so far, appears to be 'yes', the software update to 4.01a does indeed fix the white flash issue with the PS3! You don't need a new PIM though - just the software update. It take a fair while to run the software upgrade, so allow a couple of hours. Credit must go to B&O Bath who have gone out of their way to offer
