I personally have to say that I liked the design from the beginning, the cone shape with the flying saucers on top always reminds me of some kind of "laser-cannon" from Star Trek. And when I read that the design is from 2002/2003 I was a bit surprised, that these speakers are around for more than 6 years. That they still shock people after

DoubleU: For your bedroom, buy a Harmony One. Program a macro-code. (easy software) Touch the screen en watch. Is a Logitech Harmony in the box? No, but when I buy a BV 7 I get a Beo 4 or 5. Also: Why should I buy an ugly plastic remote for 199€? A Beo 4 costs only 40€ more. I prefer watching TV in the living room, with MUCH better picture

I think a big part of the premium they charge is due to the integration. I have a very good AV-Sytem in my bedroom: Sony TV, NAD Amp, Kef speakers; but why do I watch my DVDs in the living room on the Beovision 7-40? How to watch a DVD on the BV7: 1. Get the remote 2. Peter : It rather depends on the quality. A WAV file should sound as good as the source. An MP3 or AAC is dependent on the compression and indeed the encoder. I have experimented quite a bit with this and would find it tricky to distinguish an MP3 encoded at 320 kbps from CD and AAC seems to be a little better at lower speeds. MP3 below 128 kbps is

It is indeed a difference if you listen to a CD with a B&O player and compare that to a normal MP3, but you don't hear a difference between MP3 (or AAC) and WAV with a digital music device (PC, iPod, Beosound 2...).
