I'm sure I wouldn't be able to tell difference. The built in dac of the sonos is fine. I mainly got the benchmark because it also has a built in high quality headphone amp for late night listening.

I have multiple sonos zones in my house connected to B&O. The nice thing about the zonos non amplified units is that you can output a pure, unaltered digital signal. I have one sonos outputting via digital coax to my lab5s. I have another feeding a Benchmark dac which is then connected to my lab3s in another room. Awesome sound and it just works

You can't listen to the idiot "audiophile" world re B&O. They'll put down B&O, which has some of the most advanced acoustic R&D on the planet and a long and successful history, as being expensive toys for rich fools. At the same time, they'll spend obscene amounts of money on amps, preamps, cables and the like from

I just bought a TT 2 days ago with a tubed phono preamp. Running that into my BS9000 and then to the lab 5s. I got the pro-ject genie 3 which is a really slick looking TT with a Bellari tubed phono preamp that has a USB out as well. I haven't had time to listen yet but after hearing DCI's praise I'm really looking foward to it.

Thanks Stars I wish I could hide the cables better but that would mean a lot of drilling. I'm listening to the lab3s right now. Love these speakers and taking the bass out of the picture, they compare very favorably to the lab5s.

1 more. Lab 3s in the kitchen nook area. Connected to sonos via outboard DAC.

I have no old school items. I hope these will do:

I can only speak for the USA. People here don't have stereos anymore. They have and want "home theaters". The 2 channel HiFi is now a niche market with A/V integration and surround sound being the desired market. Now I agree that B&O should remain true to its values with quality and beauty high on the priority list. To move units in

I compared the 4000s to the lab 3s for my kitchen setup. I really liked the sound from both speakers, but I think the 3s handle bass a little better. I'm a huge fan of the acoustic lens, though, and that's what really sold the 3s for me.

I just purchased a Dacmagic with the intention of connecting it to a sonos via digital, then out to a pair of BL3s. I just realized that there may be volume issues. So my question is: Will there be volume issues? Will I be able to control the volume from the sonos? Will I need a preamp inbetween the Dac and BL3s? Thanks much
