Just bought a really nice 1800 / no cartridge. Everything seems to work well. I have a RX with mmc2 cart. and a 2400 with mmc 4000 cartridge. Dumb question? Will either of these cartridges fit the 1800 just for a test? Would like to hear the deck before spending $150. for a new cartridge. Thanks

Just an added note about the strobe disc. I just placed mine on the table and used a fluorescent lamp to read the speed. a spiral fluorescent bulb in a shade lamp would work quite well. Not to high tech.

Thanks for the good reponses on this site, I now have my RX speed adjusted.... Also, if anyone does not know where to get one and needs a stobe disc (any speed) either 50 or 60 hz, for free download, go to vinylengine.com
