  • Re: Stylus Review

Beoaus, I failed to mention that I also have a 20E, which really disappoints. The 4000 was a gift from my B&O advisor in California, while the tip-less 6000 came in its box along with the Beogram 4002. (Original equipment I believe.) I might have been interested in your new 4000, but less so after your narrative. Anyone with a new 20CL? Now that

I admit that I am still confused. The reference section states that the 20CL and 20EN were both the top of the line for the 4000 series Beograms. The 4000 being a diamond tip as opposed to the sapphire tip on the 20CL series would indicate that it would be longer lasting. (This from an old jeweler.) The tip-less 6000 came with my 4002 along with the

Simon, Sorry, sorry. I did not mean to change the styluses, rather I had intended to enquire which cartridges were the best and conversely the worst. I'll check the reference section as you suggested. Jeff

  • Stylus Review

Is there a list of styluses from best to “least desirable” for the Beogram 4000 through 8000 series turntables? I currently have four MMC 20Cl-C’s, one MMC 4000, one MMC 20EN, one MMC 6000 [without a tip], and one MMC20E. Jeff

  • Beogram 4000 Dust Cover

Does anyone have a lead on where I might locate a truly nice Beogram 4000 dust cover with aluminium trim panel plus hinge? My control panel came off in shipment and rendered the dust cover beyond realistic repair. Thanks. Jeff

  • Beogram CDX CD-X CD Player

Is the Beogram CDX CD-X CD player worth considering, and if so, what would be a reasonable price for a unit in good condition? I am looking for a CD player and this unit appears spectacular. Jeff

“Demolition companies,” I like that, accurate too. The ONLY two pieces of stereo equipment that arrived undamaged was the Beomaster 2400 and ironically the Beogram 8000 parts turntable I purchased from California which arrived without a scratch. Go figure! I used UPS and the USPS to ship all this gear to British Columbia. Of the two, UPS

Peter, The control plate not only can come loose but did so in my case. Really did a number on the dust cover. Fortunately it did not damage the other aluminum parts or the arms; something of a miracle. When the Beogram 4000 arrived here in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia from New Jersey, the entire arm assembly was laying on its side with the

David, Take a bit of advice from someone who learned the HARD way, don’t be shy in insisting on proper preparation for shipping a Beogram. The damage that was done to my 4002 was entirely the fault of the shipper. I honestly thought that he knew what he was doing, but that sadly was not the case. Be polite but firm in your instructions on how

  • Re: Beogram 4000

Andy, Thanks for the very kind words. It took several months for me to convince the owner who brought his Beogram 4000 into the states from Germany, to sell it to me. Then the international post simply destroyed this phonograph, shattering internal parts and generally creating a train wreck effect. It has been a long hard struggle to bring this unit
