This is a little like worrying about closing the barn door AFTER the horses are gone, but…. I have been looking for a solid B&O portable to replace a tattered Fisher Radio, CD, Cassette recorder. So much of the B&O line appeared clunky to me (like the BeoCenter 2300), BIG speakers, usually bright blue, and connected by some kind of bridge
-
I know a very great deal about the “love” of these B&O products. If you truly do not have a need for a cassette recorder, please consider me as a proper recipient. I have a colossal amount of tapes and a wonderful Beomaster 4500 set-up that lacks only the cassette recorder t make it complete. Jeff

I have been having a terrible time with my Beocord 9000 making SCREACHING noises that are only corrected by shaking the connections at both my Beomaster 2400 as well as the Beocord 9000. Once the connections are maneuvered sufficiently, the noise goes away and the sound is superb. But the next time the 9000 is selected the problem reoccurs. I am thinking

I would be interested if your Beocord 4500 is genuinely pristine. I have a very nice Beomaster 4500 and Beogram 4500 CD player….. the cassette recorder would be the finishing touch, that is if it comes with DIN connectors. Where are you located? Jeff

Hi Martin and Peter, The question that begs asking, in my mind is why? Addressed to you both. At one point I rated my various Beograms in order of performance, but in reality, what I was rating was the relative filth on the individual cartridges. The vast differences between my three 4000 series turntables evaporated with the thorough cleaning of all
-
Thank you both for your responses. Martin, two tepid endorsements are enough to convince me that I really don’t need another turntable. It has taken a lot of work to get my Beograms performing as they do…. so I think I’ll just be satisfied with what I already have. All the best! Jeff

OK Peter, Since I own a fine example of the “legendary” Beogram 4000 with its MMC20CL, a most competent Beogram 8000/MMC6000, not to mention an incredible Beogram 8002/MMC2; is there ANY reason to consider a Beogram 1000 to add to the “collection,” obsession? Jeff
-
What do you guys think about the Beogram 1000? I have a fantastic Beogram 4000 which I regard in a class by itself. (Not to denigrate my Beogram 4002 or 4004) The 4000 being my personal favorite. I also have a remarkable Beogram 8000/MMC6000 which always delights, plus a Beogram 8002 with its MMC2 cartridge which is a stand out, in my opinion. (Possibly

Thank you guys for solving my burning oil question. I thought I was correct, but needed to hear it from the experts. As for British cars, OMG! I once attended a RREC Auto Jumble at Charter House and it was a delightful outing with most welcoming participants all most positively determined to share their picnic lunch and “refreshments” with
-
Chris, I am NOT sure of anything, quite frankly. All I know is that my Beomaster 2400 has, on occasion, a very pronounced smell of burning oil. I love British cars so I am very familiar with the aroma of burning oil. I was most surprised to find this thick yellow oil in the air vents located near the center hinge. I “assumed” that it was
