Hi David, You should definitely connect the mac mini to the DAC using a toslink optical cable and not the USB. Most of the DACs out there do not have the special sync function to connect with the computer via USB in a low jitter way. Because the normal USB connection is littered with tons of timing errors/ jitter, it is advised to connect via toslink

As much as I would like to congratulate B&O on the good responses it got from the reviewer, the reviews seem kinda strange to me; they are overly positive and got the prices wrong. $3000 on a pair of Beolab8000s

Why are you being so harsh? How cheap can it be when it is wood veneer laminated on top of solid blocks of aluminium? Besides the system do employ state of the art full band digital equalization and the loudspeakers are dipoles which: nothing of which screams cheap or cutting corners.
