Thank you, I'll have to contemplate if it is worth a software upgrade. What else does the upgrade buy me (from v. 1.something, I think) ?

I have a BeoLab 3500 connected to an Ouverture in another room. Using a Beo4 in the BL3500 room I can wake them up from Standby into RADIO, CD or A.TAPE, but A.AUX belongs to the LIST and GO functions and none of these work when the BL3500 is in Standby. One workaround is to wake the equipment up using another function like CD and then switch to LIST

When will BeoVision 7-40 come with LED backlight? Any rumors? Or put in another way: How long can B&O continue sell a TV of the BV7 class with just a light bulb backlight? We are in 2010. One doubt: Does LED backlight really make a huge positive difference?
-
Me too. The lack of LED backlight is the fundamental reason that keeps me from buying one.

I'm waiting for a LED version of BeoVision 7-40. Sigmund

If you care about sound quality, I would strongly recommend an external digital to analog converter (DAC). Digital music must be converted to analog signals to enter the AUX port. The built-in DAC in PCs are notoriously bad, as is the DAC in Apple Airport Express. Fortunately the Airport Express has digital output as well so you can bypass its DAC.

Does the Blu-ray player on Beovision 7-40 understand the SACD format? The B&O docs just say: "Sound wise the Blu-ray player in BeoVision 7-40 supports the following formats: Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital + 7.1, Dolby Digital True HD 7.1, DTS 5.1, LPCM 7.1. Blu-ray discs with DTS HD 7.1 or DTS HD Master 7.1 will be decoded as DTS 5.1"

Andy Airport Express needs iTunes for remote streaming of music. With AE connected a menu shows up in the lower right corner of iTunes that lets you decide where you want to output the sound. The sound quality may disappoint you as AE's digital to analog converter (DAC) is rather limited. Fortunately AE also outputs digital (optical) sound into

What happens to regions when BV-7's Blu-ray player plays DVDs? I suppose it is region restricted for Blu-ray discs, but as a DVD player, is it region restricted as well? If it is, are there ways to unlock it for DVDs and for Blu-ray discs?

beoaus: If I bought a beoport could I record vinyl coming through the BS9000 aux port through to the laptop using the beoport box masterlink at a high sample rate to the laptop....? The question is if Beoport is able to digitze line input and feed the computer via the USB port, right? I don't know, but it would be really interesting to see an answer
