    Thanks for the quick reply! And encouraging words, no less. I'm located outside of St. Louis, MO in the US. As far as I know there aren't any B&O repair centers here but I'll see if I can find anyone else to take a look at it. I think I'll try letting it warm up a bit tonight and see what that does.

    I guess I can post my question here and avoid muddying up the forums... My CD 50 has been giving me some problems. It was working fine until a month or so ago when it began to shut down randomly while I was playing CDs. Now it doesn't seem to be able to go more than 45 seconds without powering off, and most of the time it's completely unresponsive

    That was exactly the kind of information I was looking for. To answer your question, I have the radial Beogram 5000. It's quite a beauty. I just have one follow-up question. I checked the speakers and don't see - or feel - any evidence of foam rot, but I can't find any information on the web about it. Is it just a basic, inevitable deterioration

  • Upkeep for an older Beoystem

    Hello all, I recently picked up a wonderfully cared for Beosystem 5000 with Beovox S80.2 speakers for around $300US. This is my first real stereo so I'm pretty tickled to have it. However, as it's getting on in years (I'd say it's probably from 1985 or so) I want to do everything I can to make sure I can keep enjoying it. I understand
