I have BL3s and as much as I love them I have to admit that if I was in your shoes I might consider the BL8000s first. Since you don't have to match other Acoustic lens speakers( which was necessary in my case) the BL3s won't have much of a technological or qualitative advantage over the 8000s. I have BL3s with a Bl2 and BL10 in the living room for the BV4 and like it. Especially for films.. That being said, it was difficult to calibrate the bass to sound natural for both movies and music. I suspect that I might be more happy with a BL11 for general use.

I love that kids seem to be attracted to good design as much as adults. It just seems to be from a little more pure and less complicated place. That being said, my kids (6 and 4 now) always respected our B&O stuff and even have their own Avant that has survived two years with no damage in the playroom. The car is the only place I use CDs anymore.. Of course, I don't actually handle them much. Just touch the buttons 1-6 on the dash to play a custom CD burned from iTunes. The amount of hi def audio (96/24) from HDtracks.com is just now starting to get good. They just got HD conversions from Sun Records ( Johnny cash, Roy Orbison etc.). Does BS5
