  • Re: The Delicate Sound of a Beosound

I'm not sure who the "golden ears" listening panel is, exactly, but my experience in Struer was that the best critical listeners there are in the research section, and were among the most careful and experienced listeners I've ever met. The listening panels used for product evaluation are more neutral listeners, drawn from the general

  • Re: Best ever designed BeoLab fom Bang&Olufsen

Naturally, I've got to vote for the BeoLab 5s, as I have a lot of my life invested in them. More to the point, they represent a real step forward in loudspeaker performance. It is interesting to note that six years later, there still is no commercial competition for them. They are really hard to equal, let alone surpass. B&O really aced the

  • Re: Blame on BeoLab 2

For what it's worth, I'm kinda partial to the BeoLab 2. I think it does a lot, and is extremely well engineered. I've never had a probelm with it for either music or cinema, an enjoy it a lot with BeoLab 3s in my living room. Best regards, Dave Moulton

Happy Birthday, Andy. Think of it his way: you're not 50, you're now 10 (Celsius). I find it helps a lot! Thanks for your sharing, humor and warmth. Best regards from the States. Have a ball Dave Moulton

  • Re: Variable line in to BeoLab 5

What Soundproof says is right. It's also approximately what I do. Once you have the default levels set on the Beo4, you use it to bring the speakers in and out of standby, and use the receiver volume (on its remote, probably) to control the level of the BL 5s. You don't need a sync cable for this. Enjoy! The living will be oh, so good!!! Best

Worked fine when I ordered the B&O one, which was a mystery, as I couldn't understand what was different between them. But again - would very much like to hear why you

I go along with Steve at Sounds Heavenly. I've never been confident about the sync cable, and I use non-B&O gear. I preset and have the Beo4 memorize levels for each BL5 so whenever I come from Standby to On I get those calibrated levels. I then control system levels prior to the BL5s. It works extremely well, with few questions. I hope this

Dunno about the money part. I'd vote for BeoLab 4000s. Best regards, Dave MNoulton

  • Re: Beolab 3 speaker placement

It sounds, from your description, that you've got things pretty close to right. Tilted down, toed in, bass in "corner" position. I've got BeoLab 3s in a similar setup in my spa, and they are extremely satisfying. I'm not sure about the "playing in" part of it. What we (at Sausalito Audio) have noticed is that we humans
