Hi BeoWorlders! Thanks for your interest in Sausalito Audio and ALT. This thread is quite interesting and I can give you some idea of where we are right now. We are late in the development cycle for in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, and are still working on the financing needed to bring these products to the market. I personally feel that the prototypes

My pleasure, as always. Best regards, Dave Moulton

Interesting thread! Ennet has it mostly right. We almost certainly WON'T get our new products to market in 2009, but we believe we have a breathtaking line of in-wall and in-ceiling products (using ALT) for which the prototypes are fabulous. Development continues, as we try to figure out how to do all of this. Anyway, thanks for thinking of us.

I owned a Saab GT850 (a Saab 96 homologation special) with a souped-up 2-stroke engine with automatic oiling, better suspension, tires, seats, etc. back in the mid 60s. Loved it, and loved the Saab engineering tradition of thinking outside the box. I also admired Erik Carlson, who figured out how to get these cool little cars to go ridiculously fast

I've not tried it with BeoLab 3s, but we've experimented with lens prototypes in ceilings and they work extremely well. You either want to put them on stands that are inverted and fastened to the ceiling or use the wall-mount bracket fastened to a ceiling-mounted post of some sort. Personally, I'd like them "tilted" so they aim

As someone who has engineered and produced both stereo and 5.1 music recordings, I've got to say that I far prefer the 5.1 recordings, if they are reasonably well done (and some in my collection are breathtakingly stunning). Almost no comparison, for musical impact (including conventional orchestral recordings done in 5.1). However, mechanically

Hey, BeoWorlders! I just got this from Paul Henry Smith, of the Fauxharmonic Orchestra: Hey, y'all! The Boston Globe story just came out: http://www.boston.com/ae/music/articles/2009/05/16/using_his_wits_and_wii_he_conducts_an_orchestra/ Note the mention of BeoLab 5 - and the speaker in the photo! - Paul ----------------------------------- The Fauxharmonic

From what you say, I'd recommend the BL9s now. I think they are great speakers for small-to-medium rooms, and I love the way they sound. I'm using them in a sparsely furnished room in a 1750 home, approximately 6m x 7m, 2.5m ceiling. No acoustical treatmernt. They sound glorious! I haven't gotten tired of them at all after two years of continuous

Hello all: I'm pleased to announce the following upcoming live concert featuring BeoLab 5s. On Wednesday, May 20, 2009, the Fauxharmonic Orchestra will perform the first-ever live concert of a Beethoven symphony by a digital orchestra at Holy Name Church in Boston. The Fauxharmonic Orchestra, founded by conductor and composer Paul Henry Smith, sets
