aha! ala nakamichi... makes sense. thx! looking fwd to the rest of this thread. esp regarding source for "new" tapes. ++++edit++++ oops, the adversity is with recording, playback, or both?
-
owning several of the decks mentioned... what role does the autoreverse feature play w/ the quality?
-
thx! please see my edit to previous post.

yikes, what a "bummer" -i'll give my local dealer a shout! or look for the guts of a cosmetically tired one. thx again! ++++edit++++ hmmm... but wonder why the software readout is so different on this one bad phone? -

the remotes are not different, i *believe* that the difference w/ the -2 was that you could initiate the beogram from the bm and/or remote. i will chk my notes. (3) 2400-2 and (2) 4002 -though not connected... ++++edit++++ per my notes (peter above) the -2 allowed the play and stop of the bg from the bm a/o remote

hi, have been thru the cord re-stringing... uggh... but not terrible. patience is the most important tool. i would suggest ensuring that the doors move freely prior to re-stringing. over time, the tracks tend to lose their lube and then become sluggish. human reaction is to "aid" them along causing the cords to eventually pop. so... chk the
