  • Re: A Mac Based Media Centre

Francis, If you use the ethernet cable, you don't need to upgrade your devices since it runs at 100mb (if your router supports 100mb; you'd better check it out). In the meantime auto-mount the drive and see if it works for you.

Hi Francis, I know what you're facing, so you need to upgrade your router in order to boost the capacity of streaming; Apple Airport Extreme or another alike that can handle the Draft 802.11n wireless protocol (i do know that is a draft but it's the way to solve the question) and then the D-link Mini adaptor to enable the Mac Mini to communicate

See the Tecnical Specifications at: http://www.bang-olufsen.com/UserFiles/File/Products/Technical%20Specifications/BeoPort_en.pdf As Alex said, the solution with BM-Link works just fine.

Hi, As Francis already said the Mac Mini solution surely will suit your needs; i have this solution and i'm quite happy with it. Solution: BV7-40 with a Mac Mini Connected via DVI with wireless access to the internet (using a router, of course) and a NAS (Network Area Storage), is a huge external disk (1 TB) where i have my files and can access

  • Re: Speaker 2 option as default

You can use the BL3 without a BL7-1 acting as a center speaker but in a 5.1 setup the center speaker is needed to enhance the dialogs. Do test it without the center speaker and see if it suits you. And yes, you can setup your BV7 to use the speaker 2 as default.

  • Re: Quality issue - with B&O...

I have a BS4 for a few years and it works just perfect, never had any problems with the glass not the annoying sound that you're facing with; something must surely be wrong with your unit. Perhaps it'd be a good idea to contact your local dealer.

  • Re: Opinions On This Setup...

I'd use the following setup: Floor 0: BV7-40 + BL7-4 BS4 or BL9 (front) or BL5 (if you have the budget for it) BL3 (rear) BL2 (is a plus, not needed in with BL5 or even BL9) Floor 1: BL3500 I'll also check the Lutron website in order to control the lights with the Beo4 or the Beo5; do have in mind that you could also control the curtins etc
