• Re: A crazy idea for rear speakers?

I do not expect the BL2 to add much, and perhaps even detract, but my dealer thinks I will like it so I will try it. You say the 3s are your reccomendation and that the rears are seldomly used, but also that you loved the 9s as rears when you tried them. What was it about the 9s as rears that you loved? I had 1s as rears for awhile and loved the way

I also only listen to music in 2.0 or 2.1. Rear speakers are only for movies.

  • A crazy idea for rear speakers?

My current system consists of Beolab 9s in front and Beolab 4000s in the rear. I am in the mood to upgrade it somehow. A few months ago I listened to Beolab 5s in my home and at two dealers and did not find them that appealing. My thought had been to get a pair and move the 9s to the rear. My dealer thinks I should try adding a Beolab 2 to the system

  • Re: Beolab 8002 or 12 as rears?

Visually I do not like the 3s and do not think they would sound much different as rears than the 4000s

Don't the 8002s have two 125 watt amplifiers whereas the the 12s have one 160 watt and two 80 watt amplifiers?

  • Re: Beolab 8002 or 12 as rears?

At one point I was using Beolab 1s as rears. The overall sound was much better than it is now with the 4000s. I was thinking the 8002s or 12s might improve the sound level closer to what it was with the 1s, than it is now with the 4000s. 1s are now fronts in another room.
Choose the ones that you can place properly. Both are really good speakers and it is the placement that will dictate real life sound quality especially with rear speakers. I would choose BL 12-3 as they are closer match to BL9's due both having acoustical lenses.
I was thinking about the 12s because of the

  • Beolab 8002 or 12 as rears?

I am thinking of replacing my rear 4000s with either 8002s or 12s. Fronts are 9s. Any opinions?

  • Re: How to change the Frets of my BeoLab9???

It has been awhile since I changed mine, but..... on the top, behind the tweeter/ALT unit there is flat piece that if I remember correctly is somewhat flexible. Use a screwdriver to pry it up and off. Once it is off the screws that hold th ALT on will be revealed. I think there were two. Remove those and lift the ALT unit off. There will also be a connecting

  • Re: BS5 supports Apple Lossless

Reading through this thread it seems the posts that say it works refer to ripping CDs. Is it possible the update only works at this pointy with the ripping device and not for transferring music?
