• Re: What iphone app is the best for BS5/BM5?

I have not tried it for quite some time. I never did get it to work perfectly. Now I am using a Beo 6.

That's not good. The volume of the speakers don't have to be set "visually" to the same level, even more because 4000's and 9's are not on the same league. I think that before buying anything, you should set up properly the speaker distance and levels. 1. Measure

Not sure what you mean by input signal? I had the volume on the BV7 display set to the same level.

I have done as you suggested. I was amazed how much sound came from and how much more effects were audible from the 9s than the 4000s. Listening to the rears only made me want to upgrade more.

Dealer is shipping me a Beolab 2 tomorrow to try. I honestly do not think I will like it with the 9s. My next step is to try the 8000s. They are simplest upgrade for me. Just plug in to my existing wall outlets for rears. Part of me would like to try/consider another pair of Beolab 9s, or maybe 12s. Either would require some new wiring. A problem with
the speakers have the new RJ45PL plugs,
How do they connect? Will there be an adapter from PowerLink to RJ45PL? Are they in stores yet and if not when will they be available?

Purple cable was installed by dealer. It came on a large spool and was designed for long runs. From what you say there may be hope of using the existing cable.

I just about had myself talked in to the Beolab 3s. Then today I learned that the wiring in my walls to the rear speaker locations is not MK3 and thus not ICE compatible. :( Dealer is offering me a great price on a left over pair of pre-ICE 8000s. So it seems three options are do nothing, have some major work done to run new cables, or go with the 8000s

Unfortunately I do not think the cables can be pulled through. The current cables were installed when the house was built. Electrician ran wires up the walls, across ceiling, and back down on other wall. It is a very lengthy cable.

Is there any solution other than tearing out walls to run new cable? Is the purple wire that is used in walls for Powerlink considered a Mark 1,2, or 3 or is it just a generic wire than can be used for Mark 1,2, or 3 depending on how it is connected?
