When setting an Avant to Beolab 5 with Beolab 9s connected the bass is tremendous if subwoofer is set to off on the Avant. Turning it on at the Avant, but then physically unplugging the power from the sub results in no bass from the 9s. Obviously when the sub is plugged back in, the bass is back but just from the sub. Is there a way to get full range

Regarding the advice to wait for the Beovision 7 with Beosystem 3, it is already available here in the US. Dealer has advised he can have one for us in two weeks...1080p...full Beosystem 3. We viewed one in the store this past weekend and it was spectacular.

The Beolab 1s in the rear are incredible. They have several benefits. For one, it puts the rear sound much higher than 3s would, unless they were mounted on the wall. Also, as the 1s and 5s receive more bass as the Avant filters out excess bass for the less powerful speakers, the bass that is designed for the rears now comes out as intended rather than

I will try to do a comparison. The info I was given on the settings came directly from B and O, not a store or sales person, so I tend to think it is correct.

Never have heard of the filter that can be disabled. Fortunately our Avant has been updated and has Beolab 5 in it. B and O has advised me that the Beolab 1 and Beolab 5 settings are identical and to set the 9s to either of those settings, it makes no difference which one.

Not sure if I am technologically advanced enough to figure out how to do pictures....a new challenge for me...LOL

What update are you speaking of? The Beovision 7 we saw has 1080p and has the full Beosystem 3 in it.

Just finished setting up Beolab 9s in front and moving old front Beolab 1s to rear. The sound is incredible and only makes me want the Beovision 7 even more. The Avant speakers just are not up to Beolab 9 and 1s as surround speakers.

Beolab 9s in front with Beolab 1s as rears sounds incredible....even better than I expected!
