You mention the voltage on 6 pins but on the other hand there are 11 wires to the back PCB. So where are the above mentioned voltages? The first three (well, exactly 2,3&4, 1&2 is connected) are C, B and E of the high side driver 3055. That shows the left column of voltages as correct; the output stage should have half the voltage of the power
different way of specifying the power or which line you look at in the spec sheet
Modern times - yes the specs have ever been changed for the worse. Best example is the "PMPO" - Wattage. It's also called the "cardboard wattage" - because it's only printed on the cardboard package

sorry I can't help better but it must have been something similar to my old Blaupunkt Derby: It is meant for 6 "mono" cells (I think they are called "D-cell" internationally). Compartment looks about the same size. Maybe Sören can step DIY in here... BTW, this box needs some cleaning - just had it out of my memory shelf
the sound coming out from there is nothing to compare with the sound from a good CD, a good CD player and a BM 4000
Or coming from a good CD, a CD7000 and a BM7000 with some S75's. Actual example - although pretty old (1994) but uncompressed... Boy don't dare to compare that with those 256kbit
