@TS: you probably found out by now but anyways: i think your avant is an old 81xx type and from the days almost everything was aired 4:3, resulting in the tube not 'burned' in equally. The lighter sides is just the extra bit of screen, the difference between 16:9 and 4:3 (which is stretched to 14:9 or 15:9 by the avant). Nothing to do about

If you mean the plate to put on top of your avant.....how many would you like to have ?? (still have abt 5 to offer)

Hi, A: you can't and have to live with it as it is. Although these MX's look the same htey come with a variety of software versions but eventually can be controlled with either remote. If it is a link 1000 version (easy to find out to borrow a LINK 1000, than the GOTO command should immediately show a tune on screen) than add Vsetup to the beo4

The whole 'inside' is sold as 1 unit from B&O, so if it still looks good (housing and keypad) you could order the pcb with the keypad-foil. What type is it ?? the dvd version seems to be more of a troublemaker (with the things you describe) than the old av version.

Oh, you could have them for free (i took them out of a 'dead' avant because it is a waste to throw away but have no use for them), if you'd pay for the P&P. If you mail me the exact number on the back maybe i have the exact same one ? (i recall it depends on the extra number on the unit how you have to re-adjust the equalizer of the

Where are you based ? (i'm in NL). I have some of these, i think it's better to change them as a pair as there seem to be different models around and the amp has to be adjusted accordingly (but at least with 2 the L and R will be the same). You're sure the woofer is broken ?, it is powered by it's own amp (avant has 2x 2 poweramps, 1

@Martin: yes, i know very well what you mean...overhere in NL i know some guys tend to totally fix the cabinet with new laquer or paint and indeed put new caps in old ones etc and in the end i guess the answer to this dillemma lies in what you want with the end result. Because....in all fairness...is there a point in making it work at all ?? What i'm

Unfortunately, the mains capacitor in mine seems to be replaced at some point in time...

Always great, these threads :) To add to the 'confusion': mind the order of the pushbuttons on mine... Martin, where your's has the telefon socket mine just has an empty hole (which seems to be original) and of course no transformer (seems to be fitted under the chassis). The socket of the dial lamp seems also to be a voltage selector.
