  • Re: Beovox RL 60.2

Yeah, I checked out the specs and everything of course. (I had a pair of RL 60s years ago, but they had some driver issues so I got rid of them pretty quickly.) I was wondering more about their quality as speakers go (especially compared to the high-quality stuff you can get for a reasonable price nowadays), and any known issues. These are in great

  • Beovox RL 60.2

I'm about to pick up a good-condition set of RL 60.2s. I'm thinking of pairing them with my Beosystem 5000 (Beogram 5005/CD50). I can't find much on these speakers in this forum though. Anyone have any advice? Are they known to have any significant problems/issues? Is it worth spending a couple hundred bucks on these puppies given the decent

  • Re: Beogram CD 50 won't accept CDs

Thanks a lot! I'll be taking it to a (I think THE, haha) local audio repair shop this upcoming week. Apparently they've worked on a few B&O systems so he said he's got a little familiarity with them. I'll let him know your suggestion about the CD drawer spring… hopefully that's the problem! Unfortunately I no longer have

I believe the amp's loudness setting goes to 6, I think.

  • Re: Beogram CD 50 won't accept CDs

Well, the verdict is out on the CD 50; hopefully a good cleaning will clear things up (please please please!), but it'll be a few weeks before I find out either way. In other news, my "new" Sony STR-6800SD receiver finally got hooked up to my Energy Pro 4.5s, and even through a cheap old Sony CDP-C305 CD player it sounds phenomenal. I'm

  • Re: Beogram CD 50 won't accept CDs

I don't know if there's any "classic B&O" repair people in my area of Canada (or even within Canada for that matter, haha!), but I'm going to call an audio-repair place here in Halifax tomorrow. I'm hoping that they'll be positive about taking a look at it; I don't have the time, the tools, the skill, or the experience

  • Re: Something else that Apple didn't do first!

And you're also wrong there: iTunes wasn't terribly that innovative. They bought it off another company and reworked the front, that's all. I think it was really their organization and the way both products seamlessly worked together that made them popular. Anyone who tried to use a mp3 player, even well after the iPod's debut, would

...owch. Doesn't sound good, huh? Seems pretty complicated. The odds of finding anyone who's done this before, in Halifax (let alone Canada!), don't seem good to me. greg

  • Beogram CD 50 won't accept CDs

Well, last week my CD 50 started spitting CDs back out at me. I close the drive, it pauses for a couple seconds, then opens it again. I just searched around on here and got a whiff of what seemed to be maintenance issues with this old CD players, but didn't see anything concrete. Anyone have any suggestions? Luckily, I just picked up a Sony STR

  • Re: Beosystem 5000 non-working questions?

shortcuttomoncton: Medogsfat: The speaker connection plugs are 2 pin Din (male) which simply plug into the speaker sockets of the beomaster. There are 2 types available at most electronics suppliers, soldered & screw types, and cost pennies. Use any decent speaker wire and makes sure the positive side of the cable is connected to the small round
