Completely agree with Alex. AppleTV is fantastic-- much more user friendly than connecting a Mac Mini to your system. I have both the ATV and MM connected to my BS3/BV4-50-- and I hardly ever us the Mini. A dedicated DVD player would also be more user friendly as well. While I have used the Mini for DVD's, I typically either use the Samsung bluray

It was 1977-- a college friend had just gotten a BeoMaster 2400 receiver, BeoGram 4002 turntable and pair of BeoVox P30 panel speakers. I was in love but too broke to buy the same set-up for myself. Over the years I've aquired several B&O systems and products, but still longed for that system my college friend owned. About two years ago I came

Hi Peter~~ Yes, I have to say I love the AppleTV-- I have three of them in my house. One connected to the Avant in our study, one connected to our main B&O system in the den, and one connected to a non-B&O system in our bedroom. Video quality on the AppleTV/Avant is at 480p and seems at least as good as DVD quality to my eyes. It's a great

Hi Peter~~ I have an AppleTV connected to my old Avant, and it's really great. Since the AppleTV only has HDMI and component video out, you will need an adapter to connect to your Avant. I use this one: http://www.svideo.com/appletv2tv.html I don't believe you can control the AppleTV with your Beo4 remote in an Avant set-up. At least I can't

Great idea, expoman! I had connected the analog speaker connections to the BS3 in order to get music to play on my auxilary speakers in other rooms, but it never occured to me that connecting the composite video would add additional functionality to the power on/off. I'm travelling now, but will try this out when I get home in a few days and post

Thanks, Jean. I did try this solution-- all three versions, but none of them caused the cable box to power down when the system was turned off. Has this solution worked for you? Thanks~~ Todd

Is anybody using the SA8300 DVR with a BS3? That's my set up for HD cable content, and it works fine except the 8300 set top box does not turn off when the B&O system turns off. Ordinarilly, I wouldn't think this would be an issue, but th set top box really generates a lot of heat when left on for long periods. Does anyone have any experience

My local dealer and I discovered you also need to connect the analog audio out cables to your system in order to get sound. Hope this helps.

Toby & Goldfrong88~~ Yes, the AppleTV can be controlled from the link room, atleast for audio. Pause, play, skip ahead, skip back all work fine from the Beo4 control. All of my link rooms are audio only, don't know about video control. Todd
