  • Re: BV 8 system module

I also added the system module to my BV8-32 without difficulty. I didn't really need or want the ML connection; I added the SM simply because I wanted a 4th PUC input. I have a DVD1, Apple TV, DVR/tuner, and computer connected to the BV8. I also have a pair of BL4000s and a BL2 connected in addition to the on-board speakers. I guess one might say

  • Re: Would appreciate any advise for linkroom speakers in my homeoffice

FWIIW, I have a pair of BL4000 MkIs in my home office ML system, but I found them too bass-deficient for my tastes, shortly thereafter added a spare BL2 subwoofer that I had on hand, and found the overall sound balance far better with the latter. The 4000s are simply sitting on a long desk, one at either end, using the inexpensive plastic B&O stands

  • Re: Beolab 1 question

I had a pair of BL1s in dark green for about four years, flanking a green Avant, with green BL6000s bringing up the rear. I was never very keen about the sound of the BL1s; they were a bit antiseptic in the treble and very bass-deficient, although adding a BL2 subwoofer did help a good deal. I must confess I preferred the overall sound quality of the

  • Re: Apple TV & BV7-40 - digital sound to link rooms - how ?

I suspect the OP finds the time delay between the digital signal as heard in the main room and the analogue signal in the link room to be objectionable. This effect can be minimized by changing the Sound Delay setting under Monitor/Sound Adjustments in the hidden Service Menu from the default number (I forget what it is) to 0 (zero). Unfortunately,

  • Re: What's the best PUC controllable Blu Ray DVD player?

The Panny BD-30 has long since been discontinued and was succeeded by the even better BD-35, which has also now apparently recently been discontinued. There are still BD-35s in the retail pipeline, however, and I would strongly recommend scoring one while they are still available. I have two BD-35s, one attached to a BS3 and the other to a BV7-40. It

  • Re: Beolink wireless: Does it come as a pair or do I need to buy it twice!? Experiences from you?

Well, I came up with somewhat different numbers. Trip was right about the pricing, I was being gouged by the selling dealer on some of the items. In addition to being overcharged and lied to, I couldn't get any competent service from either the dealer or BOA or the local service tech. I have recently bought a BS3, BV7, and BV8, and none of them

  • Re: Ohio B&O dealer closed?!

I had the same original favorable impression of the Minneapolis store as you did, but I quickly learned otherwise. They are real good at the soft-spoken, laid-back Mr. Nice Guy shtick, but they will screw you royally given half the chance. Like you, my previous B&O dealer (Oak Street in Chicago) was absolutely wonderful, but he closed up shop in

I have both wireless and wired link room systems. I fully agree with TE that the wireless units can be very problemmatic, particularly if one has a multiplicity of other wi-fi devices that also operate in the 2.4 Gh range. For example, my BL wireless 1 units originally fought for bandwidth not just with my wireless 802.11g LAN devices but also with

  • Re: Ohio B&O dealer closed?!

I don't knowanything about the Columbus dealership, but I would give the Minneapolis (Edina) dealer a wide berth if I were you. I have bought a number of expensive items from them during the past year and a half and was treated very badly and unethically by them. You should take anything they tell you or promise you with a grain of salt. At the
