Just a brief note before things get too gloomy about the HD-ready Mk II. The picture on mine was not very good until I changed my Sky box to one of the 1Tb type. According to various notes, this box has a 165 MHz pixel clock, and as such must use a dual-link mode. The DVI-D adaptor must be capable of carrying this bandwidth.

I have found why the screen changes, and as the reason may affect other Boeworld members, I am detailing the reason. My 7-40 Mk II has the usual DVi-D adaptor, as will any tv which only has a DVI input. This adaptor, a DVI-D single link, is ok for a Sky HD box. I have just set-up a Sky Amstrad 1Tb box to my BV 7-40 Mk II. I have connected it via AV3 using DV-1 and SCART. Unfortunately this box is not in the B&O list, so I have used the Thompson Sky HD. The automatic standby is set at "At TV Standby". This setup, however, is resulting in the screen every 30-60 minutes changing to a horrible yellow

I am also having problems with this 1TB box. My BV7-40 mkII had no problem with the IR when using the SKY HD+ box, but this new one does not appear to respond to the IR. My local B&O dealer admits that he does not know the correct position for the IR with this box, so if anyone does know, could they please advise where the IR should be placesd.

Many thanks for all your helpful replies. The approved way forward is to install a large capacity Sky HD box now, followed by the new BV 7-40 with LED. This should be available before November this year, when the EU regulations on power consumption labels come into force. Villarsch

Yes, Kokomo, all the Sky boxes were replaced by Sky because they were faulty. On looking at some other sites, there are claims that Sky's high capacity box is a "premium" product. Can anyone confirm this? Villarsch
