I agree.. I've been a B&O fan since forever. Bought my first TV set (LS5500) in 1990 it was not the double price of a comparable Sony, but close, but so much better looking and gave that nice feeling to use it ever since. But today, its not the double price, we are talking 10 times compared to a decent/good value
Its great for a 720 because it is not full hd you hardly notice it. Puc however is slower with settopbox Anyone know why the response is slower on a bv 6?
Could be the software. Recently updated software on my BV8-40 improved response time from all commands including the PUC.

Also with 0.1.8.9.0 I now have no closing curtains. Just a 20 second wait then sudden shutdown. David BV8-40

I agree. These upgrades are coming thick and fast - what are they for? Details are required from B&O but just try contacting them. A wall of silence. My BV8 is running 166d but I am reluctant to upgrade because I heard about electronic curtain problems with the new(er) version

No aerial problems and have tried other boxes on the

The aerial feed is providing 100% signal quality and strength from the local transmitter. Another more distant signal with a lower signal level is unwatchable on the BV8,

DVB transmissions recently started in my area and the bad news is my BV8-40 suffers from intermittent break-up of both sound and picture on all channels. I updated the software to 0.1.7.1.0. but unfortunately no changes to the reception quality. The aerial feed is good providing 100% signal quality and strength from the local transmitter. Another more

Just to clarify for other people plagued with the BV8-40 DVB fan noise: Software update to build 166d does not solve the problem. DVB software update 0.1.7.1 DOES solve the problem. (recent start of DVB transmission enabled me to install) The mysterious reason B&O say to contact your dealer if you "have a BV8-40 and live in the UK" is

Is it possible to change the aspect ratio to 4:3 (for correct output to a 4:3 link TV) as with STB's? BV8-40 DVB-HD s/w is 0.1.3.4
