I regret to say taht the BS1 is old in technolgy terms and the effect of the introduction of BS3 was to collapse the pricing of previous varients. I would take the offer, a recent BS2 HD ready vers 3 went for about £700 on ebay recently

Fact is that B&O use very cheap drive units in these 'lifestyle speakers' I think for B&O to be taken seriously they want to stop the 6000. It is not possible to produce the standard required with CHEAP paper drive units that measure 3 or 4 in.

wonderfulelectric: The BL8000 will most probably be upgraded if it continues to remain in the lineup. The BL8000 was introduced more than ten yrs ago. The build-in amplifiers probably suffer from higher distortion of every kind and higher noise levels than most affordable amplifiers of today. Technological advances in the area of amplifiers are introduced

Bingo: Don 't be to exited about the current 1080P panel from Panasonic. Your resolution may increase but the contrast ratio is halved from 10.000:1 to 5000:1. I have read a lot of reviews of the 50 inch 1080p plasma televisions from Panasonic and alomost everyone prefers the 720 panel with the hihger contrast. This does not mean ofcourse that forever

I know of a few dealers who would be happy to sell it with 2500 off. Lets faceit for the franchisees its one hell of an investment to make and when the technolgy changes

Interestingly, I had a rather expensive anti surge 'protecting my B&O and following a lightening strike it took it all out! My insurers seem to indicate that largely they dont seem to offer that much protection. I have therefore invested in an isotec system which is very sensitive to transients

Interesting Ito had a demo of the BL3 and lab 2 but found the bass very boomy with the sub and muddy. Then tried the BL9 and it seemed in a diferent class to me!

Whatever criteria one uses on a 50" panel one has difficulty in distinguishing the two. More to the point is the quality of the source and its this that is very dissapointing. very variable on blue ray discs, extremely variable on sky HD ( and very little to see anyway) Now, if you are watching normal TV you will notice a worse picture with the

In the electronics business in general Germany has become the worst market for sales. If B&O up the prices there they may as well shut up shop!
