  • BV8 - my first view and observations

Hi I have just spent the last hour at my dealer who unpacked a BV8 and hooked it up - have now had a good look and listen to it and have the following observations: - Looks are subjective and do create strong reactions (dealers admitting they are still getting used to it). The logo which is recessed and can only be seen on an angle is a lot more pleasing

  • Re: Beolab 7.1 vs Beolab 4000's as center channel

Hi - I swapped a pair of 4000s for a BL7.2 sitting under my BV4-65 - I was surprised by the major improvement in clairity of sound. Problem now is that as I have decided to go for BL9s as fronts I think that a BL7.4 will be better suited to the center channel.

I agree - an excellent choice and looks very good - I too was very impressed when I heard them.

  • Re: BeoSystem 3

The PS3 has IR functionality as well as bluetooth. Sony have just lauched their own IR remote for use with the PS3 - have a look at this link - http://www.remotecentral.com/articles/ps3-ir-remote.htm

My BS3 upsales all material - makes Sky look a lot better and notable quality improvement on most DVDs as well. Bluray movies (via playstation 3) look simply stunning.

  • Re: Speaker options - views appreciated

I think that option 2 is looking good given my wife does not like the BL2 very much. B&O have been skillful with the BL9 in that it does grow on you, sounds much better than the size might suggest and importantly women seem more tolerant of them than the 5s Am off for another listen early next week - always difficult making decisions such as this

  • Re: Speaker options - views appreciated

From some further discussions it is clear that the BL5s are not an option (too greater visual impact) which is a real shame because from by limited listening to them at my dealer they are quite different to all other B&O speakers. So that leaves BL3s all round with BL2 or BL9s with no BL2 - the difficulty I am having is that I cannot really perceive

  • Re: PS3 v X-Box v Wii

I also have a PS3 connected to BS3/BV4-65 and tested out the new Bond bluray - the best picture I have seen so far on my BV4 - massive improvement but makes normal sky tv look very poor.

  • Speaker options - views appreciated

Hi First off thanks to all those involved in the creation of the new site - an excellent job - also very pleased to be a founder member. I am just starting a major refurb of my house and would like advice/views in relation to the speakers for the main living room (size 30ft * 15ft) - I currently have a BV4-65,BS3, BL7.2 and BL3 pair - in terms adding
