  • Re: Embedded Windows XP in Beosound 5????

beoberlin: To me the posts 158063 to 158094 sum up quite good my personal reservations about bs5. The product is discussed since I don´t remember anymore when, but way to long and was highly charged with expectations. I was ready to get rid of my bs9000 and change it for bs5 the moment it would become available. But I was expecting a full "real"

propaganda: I agree Alex. There seems to be an incredible amount of negative attitude towards the Beosound 5 on the forum. Personally I will wait till I see and hear it in the metal. Like a lot of B&O products I am sure it will grow on me. It's most likely a very correct observation that there's little enthusiasm about the Beosound 5. I

Craig: A14BEO: we're simply saying that these look dodgier than an MP on Hampstead Heath at 2am. Brilliant Matt. Craig Dodgier than that MP? May not be dodgy at all

  • Re: Back to the Future?

I am not so sure about the challenge to compete successfully ... we (just about) all see what B&O can do when we look at the speakers. By the way, coming back to the topic of this thread: even Samsung's latest TVs use embedded Linux as OS. I remain sceptic whether MS was the correct choise. Talking about the wires: That's one reason I was

  • Re: Back to the Future?

I was quite surprised about the need for a cable myself ... not the digital revolution I as hoping for ;-) Wireless display should have been the way forward along with WiFi that would have easily done the deal

over the last week ... sure I know what's going on ... but I find it very surprising that this "stellar" product launch did not work in favour of the rating ... (but maybe that's one of the rules that dont apply anymore :-)

Beosound 5 could not prevent it ... and I hope it's not to blame ... B&O stock plunged 17% ...

Puncher: PhilLondon: Hopefully the BS5 will not give us the blue screen of death... I often see ATM and Airport displays that need a reboot! ................. and compare that to those that you have seen/used that didn't. sorry, but that attitude only shows that one has lowered expectations to software/middleware/OS. Any crash should be considered

paddy2042: How did you connect Apple TV to your Avant? I have a 28" VCR Avant and would love to connect Apple TV to it but was told it could not be done. I would love your advice. google for a "Hama Video Converter 2-3" ... it will give you scart-out for your avant ... with very good image and sound quality

  • Re: All things Beosound 5

Utterly disappointed myself, too ... clearly overpromises and underdelivers - done by a designer, not a engineer that's obvious. no wireless/digital Masterlink no smooth integration with existing products still need for wires from base to head unit no touch screen the most expensive mp3 add-on I can think of - not a full B&O audio product: only
