Is it due to the kristals that the beocom 2 is able to stand on its own ?

Here is set up - BC1 - beo1 - DVD disc. Anyone has experience with this ? How can I get the menu to pop up in the middle of the DVD with the beo1 - as when used the by the yellow button on the beo4?

Ok that is very helpfull info. This is the set up BC 1 with beo1 . Beo 1 and beo 4 give handeling problems. I recently tested Beo4 with him and although the beo4 is good for its text buttons the person is getting confused by volume and square arrowed buttons. But then the sound unit had to be two way aswell and have a timer built in to it ,....right ? A beolink 5000 and only a lc2 wont make it programmable as you mentioned ,..or am i mistaken?

Maybe a question for keith; Is it possible to by pass the hard keys settings by programming the beo 5 in such a way all controls show up on the touch screen ? And can be used from there. A dealer I asked thought it wasnt possible. Im looking for a remote solution / option for someone who is has memory problems. So navigation should be somewhat guided
