No - nothing obviously blocking the speaker output. The unit has been unused for a bout 5 years, sitting in the loft. I noticed the problems when reinstalling.

Hi Probably get shot down in flames - but I own a Bose Acoustimass 5 set of speakers which I use in the kitchen (thought they'd be good to hide on top of the kitchen units). I wouldn't bother with ATV flash. You can get much the same from Boxee/XMBC for free.

I have a ATV attached to a BV8-40. I've added Boxee to access internet streams such as BBC iplayer. It works very well although I've not worked out how best to access a DVD in the remote iMac drive (I dont have a stand alone DVD player).
