  • Re: Beogram CD 7000

Is it okey to use a capacitor with a higher voltage marking? I am not sure what the capacitor do in this circuit but it often okey to use higher voltage markings in some applications. This one seems to be a little difficult to find...

  • Re: Beogram CD6500 not reading discs

tournedos: Yes. It'll probably have to wait until after christmas. It makes a horrible noise when I plug it in and the sled won't move, I suppose it has been transported without the locks in place... hope I won't find loose bits inside. I'll start a new thread on that if I need help (probably...). And of course the missing Beogram 6500

  • Re: Strange picture phenomenon whith digital reciever box connected to AV9000

I have sorted out the problem with the TV jumping from AUX to TV on commercial breaks, the problem was in how the digital box handles the Wide screen vs 3:4 picture. But it is still very irritating that I can not save my picture settings for the aux input, they are obviously in there some where as they are visual when I press the menu button on the

  • Re: Beolab Penta 1 revidieren

I have now done the update, it was easy work if you have some elektronic- and fine mechanical skills. The difference in sound is of coarse not extreme but easy to notice. I am very critical to most things so I do not believe it is a placebo effect. I also use my Bowers&Wilkins as reference, before and after. What I have noticed is a slightly smother

  • Strange picture phenomenon whith digital reciever box connected to AV9000

I have connected a digital box (Samsung DCB-BB270Z) to my AV9000 television. It is connected to AV2 Scart and I have the picture if I press shift/TV on the beolink1000. The problem is how to adjust the picture, i.e. color, brightness, contrast and save it. I have the user manual and I have followed it. The problem is that on the "AUX" inlet

  • Re: A new High End Penta!

Very nice project, and thank you for sharing it with us! I have one comment: Penta2 seems to exixt with both versions of filters. I have Penta2 with the 2,2ohm resistor and other components identical to your diagram. I discovered that the versions with filters with 3,3ohm resistors has different capacitors and coils also, worth looking in to before

  • Re: Dissatisfaction with Beolab Penta2

Ilikehifi: B&O have never been at the cutting edge of speaker design wrt sound quality (excluding the daleks.. which *are* excellent, but at a premium). If you can find a pair, the JM Lab 905 will blow you away. One of their more affordable models, but trickle-down technology from their more expensive series means you get *very* close to a Utopia

  • Re: Dissatisfaction with Beolab Penta2

The cellar was dry but a little cold, the time they were left unused was obviously enough to make them sad! They still are sounding better and better, I have the B&Ws as reference so I know I am not imagining. Changing the capacitors in the filters seems like straight forward, found some information about that. Martin, I do unfortunately not speak
