• Re: Beolab 4000 vs Beolab 3 vs beolab 8000

People admire the 4000s because of their price/performance, not necessarily their raw performance vs speakers higher in the range (except for the 6000s - many (not all) prefer the 4000s over the 6000s). There's also some suspicions that the mrkII 4000s are not as good as the mrkIs. It's also been my experience that dealers have their systems

  • Re: Besound 5 encore - Will I be happy with it?
Chris, Just scratching my head and wondering how and why? My experience of using Beoport is one of mediocrity – mediocrity which was sufficient when I did not have access to my BS5 (for work reasons) to plug into my “global roaming” Beovision. I mean, considering the path for the signal (if I understand

  • Re: Beolink active help!!

Yes, even though the audio from the PC port is not sent on masterlink, the active always needs a "master".

  • Re: Beolink wireless
Sorry I don't understand your reply. My beolink wireless have sw 2.1, only Beosound Ouverture and beolab 3500 have sw 1.1
I'm not an expert (I do have a working wireless setup with a BS9000, BS5 and BV8 as sources), but I'm not aware of any compatibility issues between a Beosound and Beolink Wireless

  • Re: B&O News

In my experience, people are challenged by most B&O interfaces because they don't often closely follow convension. That is, if people had no preconceived ideas about how a remote, TV, audio system or phone works, they would have no problem picking up 80% of what B&O does. IMHO, we've all be trained on poorly designed interfaces to the
"What's been fascinating over the years is the way [Apple has] divided society -- it is quite extraordinary.
I submit this thread (so far) as evidence to support this quote. Personally, I think it is appalling that many people today seem to so closely associate their identity with their gadgets that
They have at least launched the preowned section of the website http://www.bang-olufsen.com/preowned no ideas if anyone uses it though.
I have tried this. There were some demo BL9s for sale, and I inquired and received an almost immediate response. The BL9s disappeared within a few days - I assume they sold.

  • Re: Beosound5 vs. Beosound5 encore apart from Masterlink

90% of the software my company sells has 100% of the capability, and it is enabled/disabled via license keys. When a customer buys a new feature, they get a license key that enables it. Adding the license key takes 5 minutes. They're happy because they didn't have to install anything. We're happy because we don't have to build and test
'Loved the episode that was supposed to be a 3-way comparison of a R-R Ghost, Mercedes S65 AMG, and Bentley Mulsanne. Bentley at the last moment refused to lend them a car so they substituted a Yugo and reviewed it as if it were the Bentley. Good stuff..
This is one of the few episodes I have seen. My

  • Re: Why BL4000 MKI better than MKII?

The consensus on this site is that the MkI's are better. However, I've never done a comparison myself. The easiest way to tell the difference is that the mkI's on/off led doubles as a on/off switch, while the mkII's do not have this on/off switch. Stan
