• Re: mmmpff...
However, you can check the coils before sending the cartridge. If you have access to a multimeter, measure the resistance across diagonal contact pins on the rear of the cartridge. Open or closed circuit indicates defective coils but a few ohms resistance indicates that the cartridge is OK.
NO, NO NO!! Do

  • Speaker stands for Beovox M150

Hi all, I am in need of a pair of stands for the Beovox M150 loudspeakers (Stand type 6016). If anyone has any they'd like to part with, please let me know. Condition relatively unimportant as long as they are complete and capable of supporting said loudspeakers without collapsing! Thanks in advance. Adam.

  • Re: Beomaster 8000, Beogram 8000, Beocord 8000, Beovox M150, owners handbook and manuals

Indeed. I should be collecting it from the friend who kindly picked it up on my behalf this weekend and I'm as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve!

  • Beogram bits needed!

Hi all, If anyone happens to have either of the following lying around, please get in touch, as they would help a couple of projects along tremendously! (1) Lid for a Beogram 1202 (2) Complete replacement arm for a Beogram 1800 (1980s type). I did buy this knowing the arm was damaged (both the arm itself and the pivot assembly are beyond salvation so

  • Re: Tangential decks extend pickup life?

It shouldn't make any difference. If a radial tracking deck is causing the cantilever to be pulled to one side then I would say that either the suspension, tracking force or bias are not set up correctly. In fact, a B&O style tangential deck could in theory weaken a cartridge quicker as it works on the cartridge continually pulling a little

  • Re: Whats the best item you ever bought from B&O ?

Best: Beovision Avant. I love it! Worst: BeoCom 2. Despite 2 new handsets and 3 new base stations, it simply would NOT work in our house!

  • Re: B&O cartridge review
I've never been a turntable connoisseur but when I bought my 5000 system I selected the BG5000 over the BG5005 tangential.
A wise move. As mentioned on here before, I was quite shocked at the drop in quality when I temporarily moved from a BG5000 to a BG8500, running the same MMC4!

  • Re: Boevox M-100 Speakers...what "sensitivity? What amp?

The Vincent will also be fine with the M-100s as it also has plenty of current delivery ability. I have heard both amplifiers and they are both excellent but, I would personally go for the Naim - I have a SuperNait in my main system and love it to bits! Of course, the important thing is to try and listen to both and let YOUR ears decide, as it's

  • Heads up - Hi-Fi World magazine July issue

Hi all, Just thought some of you might be interested to know that there is a three page section in the July issue of Hi-Fi World magazine about buying classic B&O equipment, written by none other than a certain Mr. Tim Jarman. Going to sit and read my copy tonight, with a beer or two! Adam.

  • Re: BeoLab 9, and what happened to the forum on B&O's website?
A good example is the recent Duffy album. Absolutely terrible flat engineering used in that CD. Play this back through the BL5s and BL9s and it will still appear as flat as it would played through computer speakers :)
Try the vinyl version - that sounds fine!
