Typical. Just when I'd rationalized my decision to get a non-B&O TV (see my other post) they go and do this. All the concerns still apply (crazy overpriced, woeful connectivity, misguided decision to eliminate surround module option), but this is absolutely gorgeous.

HD-DVD players are being sold for ever cheaper, and the HD-DVD group is having to pay studios (the small minority of major studios that aren't part of the blu-ray group) for a limited period (note: these are not HD-DVD only for good) of exclusivity on new releases - looks to me like blu-ray has already won. YMMV, of course.

I know there's been similar posts before but wanted to share my own experience, as someone - a B&O enthusiast - looking to replace our old TV. Naturally enough, I kind of assumed I'd be going down the B&O route. Having looked into it in some detail over the past year, reluctantly I'll be looking elsewhere, and here's my reasons

Just to add to others' comments, I've had mine since March 2006. It gets well used every single day, and transported without a case in the pocket of my jeans, and it still looks like new. It even hit a stone floor from waist height and it doesn't even have a scratch. I was pretty careful with it at first, what with the cost of it, but soon

I'm not aware of any B&O products being made in China - just Denmark, Czech Republic, and (in the case of Samsung co-productions) Korea. FWIW, Korean manufacturing is for the

eduard: jandyt: Can't remember Ed. They've been sat in the back of my PC for months! I think it was on the mediacentre. If you look carefully, they look like they're made of wood. I think they were prototypes for Serene. Andy T. Do you have more nice things in your computer?? Yes, these Serene design study models (I think they're usually

The design, or form factor, is by David Lewis at B&O*, but the innards are largely Samsung AFAIK. And it's made by Samsung in Korea. In fact, my first one had "Made in Korea" stencilled in big white letters on the inside of the shell! G. *And is at least a unique B&O design with very nice materials, unlike that nasty re-badged

I'll be there! (virtually, at least, by the magic of the super duper silver roadway interweb thing) Will I get a prize though? Must admit I'm quite fired up by the whole thing!!!

Philippe: And about the 26" size, just trust your own opinion... If you feel 26" is good enough for you, go for it (it's not 32" or + owners who will watch videos at your home anyway ). Ans as it's been put before, if one wants a true-to-life movie experience, you just inevitably need a projector and a big screen, because even
