• Re: Beovision 10 - 46 Dont bye it :-(

The mass market,so we are told, clamours for LCD TVs,and generally the cheaper the better, but since B & O is not catering for said market, there is no reason for it not to offer technology that offers the best PQ with components sourced from the highest quality suppliers. Edge lit LED panels,to my mind,do not offer the best PQ,and presumably are

  • Re: TV Features & Specs

Surely one of the problems with auditioning TVs in a store is that one does not know if the individual sets have been optimally set up. Adiitionally, the ambient lighting level has a marked effect on the PQ of LCD,and Plasma TVs. It is my understanding that bright lighting favours LCD,whereas low lighting favours Plasma. For me,a TV's ability is

As a matter of fact,Bose do have their own TV. It is a 46" LCD Monitor, called the 'Videowave',and costs about £6000. The various surround sound speakers are incorporated into the Monitor's housing.

To my mind,a basic point is being overlooked in this discussion. One expectation in buying a premium, priced, product is a higher standard of quality control operated by the manufacturer, which in turn leads to consistency in the product. If there is an inconsistency in peoples' experience of the BV10,then it speaks volumes about B & O's QC
About LED backlight with local dimming system; it seems that there are problem with the technology as well since images with grey shades tends to turn black and images with colour section with weak light tends to fade to grey. Has been reported on numerous LED tv and reported in many other forums.
True,but likely

It is my understanding that clouding, and non uniform backlighting, are potential problems with an edge lit LED panel. Personally,if I was going for a non Plasma TV,I would only consider a full LED backlight, with local dimming, system. I think it is short sighted of B & O not to have integrated Plasma TVs in their portfolio.

  • Re: BeoWorld in Decline

B & O's LCD TVs are based on a still evolving technology. So,a potential buyer has to ask if the purchase of a premium priced TV based on an immature technology is a wise decision. Or should he wait for that technology to mature, and buy a cheaper product as a 'holding' solution. Would the purchase of a Mark 1/2 BV7 have been a wise decision

  • Re: BeoVision 7-55----Owner experience?
My only problem with BV 7-55 is its size, too big for our living room. When can we expect BV 7-40 with LED backlight? (Or: How long can B&O be alone to sell a high quality TV with outdated CCFL technology?)
To be fair to B & O,there is a school of thought that CCFL backlighting is less prone to unevenness

  • Re: Worst Review.. ever ?

The reference may not be to a current product. Gryphon Audio Designs sprang to mind as a designer of distinctive products. Their current Mikado Signature CD Player might, very loosely, fit the electric hob description. Review at: http://www.gryphon-audio.dk/files/reviews/139/review.pdf

Thanks for the replies. It is really helpful to hear of actual owner's experience with a given product. Now to arrange a demo.
