At home, my setup is a bv4 50" connected to BS3. I decided to go down the route of PS3 (bought the 160GB) for playing of dvds and bluray discs and I have to say the result is fantastic (I didn't buy PS3 for games). I didn't realise it was possible to disable the PIN protection on all B&O products. In that case it isn't a problem to switch everything off at the mains.

B&O products are designed to be left in standby, not switched off. For new products, they will ask you for a PIN number if they have been off for more than a certain number of hours before you can use the product fully. So I wouldn't recommend using that.

The PS3 has a slot loading drive. It is loaded by sliding the disc through a slot at the front of the player, so like a normal dvd player: This can also be done when the PS3 is standing up vertically

The PS3 is also increadibly easy to update the firmware on it over the internet, whereas other players are not set up to do this. So you will always be taking full advantage of your Blu Ray movies because of this.

Are you sure the Beovision 4 is progressive scan?.
