I am assuming that you are not a B&O service engineer? My first thoughts are be careful with the software tool if you are not trained to use it. But in answer to your question you should check that the correct com port is selected in thew service tool so that it is looking in the right place to receive the data. Also double check that you have disabled

I've been given a price of £3,565 including Beo4 but excluding ML. As already mentioned, initially this will include Beo5 which is normally £500.

BeoVision 10 will be available on a motorised floor stand or wall bracket which will allow you to rotate it away from the wall. It will look very similar to Beovision 5, it is a 40" LCD screen and will retail for about £5500 - £6000. Not sure about colours but I would expect it to be the same as the rest of the range (excluding BV8

Am I missing something here? You have just bought it ex-demonstration, so it should have a warranty regardless of how old it is. The store have obviously tried to solve the issue but with no success yet, have they refused to solve it? If not why not let them do so you've tried the socket unit there is only the head unit left so the problem is either
