You could use any speakers (with the appropriate Cable -> BS5500 connector) but there really are some cracking B&O passive speakers out there. I used to use a big pair of KLH speakers which were good, but were just the same as a ton of other sound systems' look. I currently have Redlines for the front and a pair of BeoVox X25 s at the back

It's rare that I make posts, although I don't think the forum has lowered in quality; simply that I don't have money to buy new equipment and if I did, I would be more likely right now to spend it on a car. My memory of the forum a few years back was that there were fewer members so there were more recognizable 'personalities' and

The 'Samsung copying B&O products' thing is a major factor as to why I no longer by new B&O products. They made a version of the Serenata and - being a LOT cheaper - put me off upgrading my Serene to it. Now that they've done a BS2 rip-off, I'm vaguely glad I switched to an iPod Touch. At least it still has a few unique features

Sorry, I agree with the general point but it's not "ironic." Maybe weird, odd, unfoortunate, a shame, but not ironic. It's like the song "Ironic" which isn't, clearly A lanis Morissette didn''t get the subtle difference either . Observe Edd Byrne discussing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMQ8S2uHTlo Sorry

Anyway, within a few days, I was the owner of 4 of the things, incluiding the one actually on my system. The years went by and I left them at my parents house safely hidden away. Then I

When judging bedding in a shop, what do I look for? Is it the warmth? Is it the pattern? Is it the price? Is it the comfort? Nope, it's whether it will adequately look after a set of good audio equipment in years to come when I move

The width is determined not by the screen size but by the resolution. I use 800x600 and the forum fits the width of my screen perfectly. Any wider and it would hence be unreadable. What I would like though is if the posts were less 'tall' I'm sure the vertical proportions of the posts could be compacted a bit. Some of the long conversations

For the true retro look, i hope that you've decorated accordingly? My living room is a maroon carpet, "Cocoa Blush" walls (a light brown from the Dulux range), black shelves and a BS 5500. I run a projector onto a white 80" rectangle I painted on the wall. It really is a proper late 70s or early 80s bachelor pad

A story reported by the BBC News Website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7238768.stm Being obsessed with 'retro' technology, I will be raising a glass of good whisky to this news

Which red light? Is it one of the text ones or just the one that normally means standby mode?
