  • A8 power consumption

Well was using a pair of A8 earphones with my ipod touch for a few months and noticed that the battery lasted nowhere near the time Apple claimed it should. Anyway, then one of the ear's sound wasn't working (owing to the age of the headphones and my habbit of knotting the wires when not in use, I'm going to get the soldering iron out at

  • Re: Have B&O gone mad with their prices?

I suppose the company's maybe just happy moving from selling to doctors/lawyers/businessmen to selling to the small buy super-rich group. A shame for us, but if they turn a profit then fair enough, that's business for you. Of course, that profit isn't happening which makes you question the strategy.

  • Re: Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Well I just ordered myself a Century from Lifestyle which should look great in my kitchen. What with the new year, it won't arrive until the 6th or 7th of January but then I realised that it's actually Christmas on the 7th anyway, at least under the Julian Calendar. Apparently in Russia a lot of orthodox folks celebrate it then anyway. Besides

  • Re: B&O to abandon Scotland...?

It was a shame that the Durham shop closed but then I suppose they assumed that if you could afford a BeooVision, you could afford the petrol or a train ticket to get to Newcastle, which only 15-20 minutes or so away. Still, I did buy a few things when I was a student at Durham and I probably became hooked on B&O largely because I was given such

  • Re: Horror ! Follow the B&O stock minute by minute

There's always good news in any price though. In this case, it could be that it's now oversold and ripe for those without stock to get in at the bottom. Certainly, it's looking like cash assets will be destroyed by central banks printing money. Also, the raw material costs will be a lot less now that the aluminium price has dropped from

  • Re: BeoCord 5500 auto-reversing when it shouldn't

Well the same tape started messing about last night and auto-reversing when it was played at the same point. I've now given it to a friend who's player doesn't auto-reverse as it's a perfectly good album otherwise. I'll be re-recording my stuff onto a bunch of 90 minuters some point next week.

  • Re: BeoCord 5500 auto-reversing when it shouldn't

I went and recorded another playlist onto a spare tape I found in a drawer and it seems to have worked fine. It's all very curious... I was thinking about how the BeoCord normally flips the tapes really quickly and how it can only do that by telling the end of the magnetic part and the start of the plastic bit. This means that it can't be a

  • BeoCord 5500 auto-reversing when it shouldn't

I went to record a tape from itunes onto my 5500 system. It's worked fine in the past but found tonight when I popped back after only an hour (on a 120 minute tape) it had finished the tape and stopped already which made me initially think it maybe just never started recording in the first place... Anyway, I did it again so I could hear if it maybe

  • Re: Wow, Damage!!

If I had to make those marks, the only way I could imagine would be with a hammer and a chisell I also would never buy anything that much on eBay unless it way pay on delivery. eBay's for selling old and or cheaper systems, not BL5's

  • Re: No more B&O Mediacenter ?

Well I run a Mac Mini through my BeoSystem 5500 and a projector. I've also ripped all my DVDs onto an external hard drive which took an age but is rewarding. Now if I want music, I press Radio on the controller and if I want a film, I whack up the projector and run a film onto my wall through a good sound and AV system. Getting back to B&O though
