  • Re: The BeoWorld Event 2010

If I was one of those eccentric millionaires with more money than sense, I'd give money to a B&O dealdership over that way to give free tickets to 27 Welsh ladies, then bring up this conversation on the night Should be a great evening, looking forward to it y'all

  • Videos about obsolete video formats

Not to do with B&O this but I thought most people here would find it interesting James Rolfe normally does reviews of old video games but he also does films and some other stuff. Anyway, this week he's been doing some videos about old video formats and it's fairly interesting stuff if you're a bit geeky like me: http://www.cinemassacre

  • Re: Can I use vodka?

I've always sworn by vodka as a cleaning solution. 1) It works brilliantly at taking stains out of ties. Use a cotton wool bundle, flip the bottle to douse it and then pat the stain and it'll draw out onto the cotton wool without leaving a stain or messing up the silk 2) I once used one of those CD labelling kits for my computer and stupidly

  • Re: Slow coach!

Surely that would mean it was miles better? I wonder if it will be slow furlong? Often hitting things makes them work, try pounding it? Or if it annoys you, try going for a walk in the yard to calk down and accept de-feet. (I'll stop now)

  • Re: I'm almost hesitant to ask.....

Ok, the science bit is that 3D works by getting your eyes to see two seperate images, filmed from different angles and this tricks your brain into sterophonic vision. Eventually, screens will produce two images projected outwards at very slightly different angles. Being a very narrow angle, this will involve a screen that tracks the position of your

  • Re: A pin in a hay stack

To be honest, B&O stuff is pretty recognisable so if someone's been fooled once (ie a thief has spent the efford taking out a subsequently worthless TV) then they're more likely to just leave future ones alone. If the system was applied across the board then it would have an incredible impact on AV theft. Alternatively, an easier system

  • Re: CD player production ends at Linn

I suppose that I was more making the point that the market is moving towards lossless digital and Linn have seen it. B&O is a bit different, we're more aesthetic, we appreciate design and craftsmanship in a product, whether it is a tangible album or a nice piece of reproduction equipment

  • Re: CD player production ends at Linn

I always thought that if I did have outrageous amounts of money I'd be unsure which to buy. B&O is better looking but then Linn is top quality sound, if you can afford it. A friend of mine actually worked for them briefly over a summer. If you're spending that kind of money though then you want the 'dream system' and to be honest

  • Re: New Battery - Beosound 2

When I had mine, I used to get 8-10 hours or so at least. I was using it for 45m each way en route to lectures and a bit more, charging once per week or something like that. I'd be surprised if B&O weren't using an off-the-shelf (ie replaceable) battery though.

  • CD-R80 on a Century?

First of all, given that I'm been slightly freeloading from the forum for some years, I've upgraded my membership from bronze to Gold. (that's just a bit of an encouragement for others to do the same and help support the site) Back to the question though. I was about to go burn a bunch of mix CDs from iTunes for my Century system and, given
