  • How to nearly ruin a good set of speakers unless you're artistic.

Well, tonight I decided to fix my RL45's which had a nick in the cloth. I planned to put an inch wide red line over the gash with an acrylic paint. Anyway, I popped into the local DIY shop and decided to kill two birds with one stone by using (acrylic) spray paint, as I needed some for another non-related task anyway. So I use masking tape and get

  • Re: The B&O stock...

To be fair, most stocks have fallen, whatever they sell or do. Just be glad that the end of easy 'private equity' groups means we're unlikely to see B&O falling into the hands of the kind of people that would asset strip and reduce the company to selling equipment through Wallmart/Tesco and the like

  • Re: Why can't B&O for once be honest?

B&O at the end of the day is a business; it's purpose is to be a business, turn a profit, and if it doesn't do as well as it should, there should be a reason or someone should be either eplaining or covering for shareholders. My personal quandry is how UK turnover was down when the buying power of sterling has been so much higher relative

  • Re: RL 140 WALL BRACKETS

i've taken to searching for 'olufsen brackets' on ebay every few days now. Unfortunately, these won't fit my RL45's, unless I'm very much mistaken? Rest assured that when a compatible set do appear, I'm probably going to initially regret paying "stupid money" to win them.

  • Re: re-issues of old products

I'd agree, the best "products" they could reissue would be a load of belts, stylus's and so forth. I also think that if they were to go retro, they'd be better off making a new LP player, something cool that went on a wall vertically and used a new form of weighting system or a laser. As it is, it'll never happen as the development

  • Re: playing my playstation on my B&O

Actually, If you're going to tinker with technical setups, could you not just get a converter so you can plug the playstation in like a TV ariel?

  • Re: BeoGram, SO many choices!

Well you've covered the most important point for turntable beginners - the need for an amplifier. Turntables have a lower signal than tape/cd units but assume you have an older amplifier with the special turntable input. Many new units have an inbuilt preamp so you can plug it into anything Point two though is the cost of the stylus. As B&O

I don't know the model but you could try holding the step button and seeing if that switches mode to AV? You probably need to use a remote though. Of course, if you can't justify paying a lot of money just to occasionally plug in someone else's playstation, you could indeed get one of those cheap universal remotes - they do seem to work

  • A Mac Based Media Centre

I just bought a projector to connect up with my BS5500 and now one part remains of my dream media centre. Bascially what I want is an equivalent to Apple TV but with far more memory. I also don't have the budget to go down the standard Mac route. What I wanted to do is make a PC, fitted with as many and as huge a set of hard drives as I can find

  • A nick in a RL Speaker

I posted a few days ago about how I received a small nick to my Red Line's after a shelf fell off the wall. Anyway, I've now been pondering about what to do. It's a small nick about an eighth by a quarter of an inch, about an inch from the side of the speakers - so not actually over the speaker bit itself but the casing. Anyway, my simple
