Did they both become available at the same time - I have vague memories that the Beolab was available before the Beomaster was released - at least in the UK ...... Brian

If you want to refoam then check on ebay under Beovox repair and then follow the links to an excellent Dutch site good_hifi . I have bought several rings from him for CX50/100s, RL140s and also a pair to fit an LX TV. Brian

I only wish my father had kept his BM5000 and BL5000 as well as the BV5000s (he still has!). Really good news - but how many 5000s were ever built - and how many remain? Brian

Does anyone know if B&O ever produced a wheeled stand for the large screen MX series - along the lines of the stands for the LX series? Brian

I would try to keep the cartidge (and stylus) pressure on a lower setting (if your Beogram allows - most do) so that it presses into the vinyl with less force. However you do not want it to be so light that it causes the reocrd to skip if you open a door or walk across the room! Brian

I have a "Mars Bar" one in good condition - not looking for much (plus postage) Brian

It will be easier to find a good used 5000 system, as this was one of their best selling lines, than a 6000 or 8000. I would sel lthe 5000 first, the 6000 next and look at some of the Beolits etc. I think keeping a good BG 4000/2 should be a priority - assuming you have a record collection!! Personal opinions - but you did ask! Brian

.....and is there a B&O in-car entertainment system for the return journey to Eastbourne? Hope you had a fun day out! Brian

There is nothing in the Owner's manual for the Penta II or Penta III about the availability of a dimmming facility. It's possible that the dimming feature is not covered in the manual, but I would have though it's unlikley. I can't see anything in the electrical circuit (see PCB11) either (though I could be missing something there!)
