In the UK at least, big panels are chavvy. Anything >32" in a small boxy UK house just looks ridiculous. Fair enough if you're in a massive open-plan apartment, but if you're not and your eyes work, why do you want a 60" screen FFS? I'd be cautious about the value of the Beomaster as if it has been boxed for 25 years, it is also very unlikely to work. I bought a spares unit for £50 and had it fixed up for my own collection, then I later sold it on for a substantial profit when I decided to scale back my collecting. Love the Chronostop. Was my first Omega. Flightmaster was a step up size-wise, but I liked the Chronostop for how discrete it was under shirt sleeves etc.

Does anyone here own a quality non-DAB receiver? The Beolit 12 looks a sack of $hit. Go buy an original Beolit and enjoy AM/LW/FM broadcasts into the future. You might surprise yourself.

Without a massive BBC subsidy propping it up, DAB would be dead in the water here in the UK. Everyone hammering on about poor quality AM or LW signals probably has a poor quality receiver, or lives in the middle of nowhere. If the latter is true, then the current DAB signal is hardly likely to improve the quality of your listening!
