Never bothered with Channel M as it's too far into the twilight zone on the Sky entertainment channels. If there were a Channel L (for Super Leeds) then I might reconsider..... Alex: Maybe my BeoMaster 4400 just needs a looking at, but I prefer my 6500! Still surprised me just how good it sounds though, it's more musical than my 6500... Haven't heard an 8000, but the 6000 was very impressive! A friend bought one over in France and bought it back to the UK (cost him €25!). Very easy to listen to, and pretty outstanding

francoisvl: I cannot give an unbiased opinion as I haven't heard the 5000 or 8000, but my 4400 really does sound wonderful. I was very suprised when I first tried it. It is very good when it comes to bass. Bit low on the treble side maybe? I've not heard the others, but my Beomaster 8000 sounds amazing through my Beovox Pentas. I guess it depends

Hi Marc I like your 800 - it's very nice! You're right about the positioning of the speaker, but at least it makes sense when the 800 is used on its side with the handle and the feet out :) I have some pictures but cannot work out how to post them on the new forum. No worries - it was a pleasure to write about. I have four Beolits: a 1960s 600, 70s 600, a 609 and an 800. I have to say the 800 is currently my favourite, but I'm on the lookout for a Beolit 1000 in a wooden cabinet too add to my collection and I'm pretty certain that would usurp the lot! John
