I just one a bid for a Beomaster 1700 on Eaby for 1 pound 75!! Its in good cosmetic condition but is untested. I couldn't resist though. Is the Beomaster 1700 consider as a good product?

The woofers on my Beovox S55's suffered badly from foam rot. This model is well known for foam rot. Almost all of them have suffered from it
-
I'm using a pair of Beovox 5700 which are quite large and are perfectly suited to the 4400 as it has a lot of power. Can really turn it up!
-
I cannot give an unbiased opinion as I haven't heard the 5000 or 8000, but my 4400 really does sound wonderful. I was very suprised when I first tried it. It is very good when it comes to bass. Bit low on the treble side maybe?

There's a company with no pride or work ethic!

I have to say I stay far away from MP3's. Have no idea where my MP3 player is actually. I'd much rather listen to a CD. Strangely enough I find the whole mp3 thing inconvenient for home. Too much effort. I suppose its convenient for listening on Ipods, but I hate listening to music through headphones so thats another strike in my books!!
-
Quite suprised! Are there no more purists on this site!!
-
Wouldn't this render the Beocenter worthless? In my mind it would have no re-sale value after the modifications? You can connect an Ipod anyway although it wouldn't be part of the Beocenter which I guess is your aim.

tascam: I still think it's overpriced and the sound is poor for the money. These were new unopened boxes, garbage You've said that the performance is poor. I suggest you decide what you believe in before you post!

I have to be honest and say I don't know anything about Beolink passive but I thought powerlink sockets were for active speakers?? Can they be used for other purposes too? Couldn't find a clear explanation on the site
