Thanks sgresswell. I tried cleaning the lens's to no avail unfortunately. Thanks for the information koning. Was your microprocessor problem the result of a power cut/power surge? Is it so difficult to have in-built protection against power surges in electronic equipment? All the other electronic equipment in the house, including 4 computers, is

>Masterlink line (ports) took a surge when the power went DOWN/UP??? Possibly, but I don't know if that would result in everything still working perfectly, albeit for only a few minutes at a time. Everything is connected via a surge protection multi-socket adapter, but I don't know how effective they are.

Hi burantek, Thanks for your input. I have tried putting the whole system in standby over night. I have tried unplugging the whole system from the wall over night. I have tried disconnecting the BeoSound 9000 from everything else for a few days. None of these options is getting a positive result unfortunately.

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help? I have a BeoSound 9000 connected to an Avant and speakers. After a recent power cut I found myself having to re-enter the pin code for the Beosound 9000. Unfortunately, due to being a pillock, I didn't enter this correctly the first 2 or possibly 3 times. I then checked the pin code and entered it correctly the

Hi Beoworlders, Quick question about a problem I've had for a while. I have an Avant with BeoLab 8000's/Beosound 9000/etc connected. When I turn on the television, radio or cd player the volume is set at 50, which is too loud. I can turn down the volume before turning off the TV but it always starts up at 50. How do I set it to a lower level

Just to say the turntable worked for a while but I guess the preamp wasn't good quality enough as I got a humming from the speakers (?) and now the turntable is not rotating at a consistent speed again and making a scraping noise which I thought had gone away. I'll look into getting it serviced, and better preamps, but I suspect the most sensible

Hi Peter, Just to say thanks for your input. I now have the preamp which work fine. Your memory served you correctly and there are indeed two holes labeled 33 and 45 on the underside of the 5500. Looks like they take a Phillips screw driver, so I'll give that a go.

Hi Peter, Thanks for the reply. Yes I think there is something wrong with it. Everything sounds slightly slower than on CD. I downloaded the manual and couldn't find anything to suggest I could adjust this myself? Regarding a preamplifier, the only one I could find that looks suitable is this one. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=28732&TabID

Hello all, Can anyone recommend someone in the UK to service a Beogram 5500? Do dealers touch Beograms these days? I also need to get a preamp which someone told me I could get from Maplins. If anyone could point me to the exact preamp I need that would be fantastic as I have no idea what one looks like. I intend to connect it to my speakers via a BeoSound
