Is the display on all the time (and showing STD.BY)? It should go blank after few moments when idle. Could the stand-by button be stuck?

I would agree with Eric. I checked photos of my Beolab 3000s and it looks to go that way (judging by the position and orientation of the cable, the only photo I got of the rear panel is with the wires disconnected).

If I understood correctly, you have a BM5500 in your livingroom (with speakers) and you would like to have a second pair of speakers in the dining room (from where to control the BM by remote)? If yes, you can use a (master control link) MCL2A kit. You plug that to the BM and run a cable (available from B&O, suitable generic cable can be used, too

My bet would be on the electrolytic capacitors. I had a faint memory of reading something about the VU meters on these decks in Beocentral Workshop Notebook. Quick search found this: -- Beocord 2000 No sound and the level meter showing some segments lit all the time is a common problem with this model. The cause is lack of the 7.5V bias supply which

I made a visit to my local B&O shop to buy some new powerlink cables. I was also presented a lot of left-overs and old oddities, so finally I left the shop with an extra BL5000 wall bracket (with box, unused) and most interestingly, this: That's right, a white Beolink 1000, not home-made! Working, but horribly dirty and sticky. The battery holder

Have you tried to sign out and back? Last time I upgraded the level didn't show correct stars util signing out and back. I also had some troubles getting signed out (the button didn't do anything!) but somehow I did get it working.

See here and here . If you have a suitable system, do try it, I liked it!

I am afraid it's the tube dying. My first BV3 did precisely the same thing. The light turns green but there is no degaussing noise ("spring-like" sound) and the picture doesn't come on. Usually the set won't respond to standby command after the fault. As far as I know one of the guns inside the tube is short and the tv won't
Something like this? I have no idea where I got these, I've had a couple rolling on my desk for ages. Size 40 x 29 mm. If the size is suitable, at least you know that these exist somewhere.
I have one, too. It's from Partco, and in the webshop it says it's a Panasonic .
