If its working, but in poor cometic condition its worth it. Even if non-working, if it is in good cosmetic condition, it would be very likely repairable at that price and still be worth it. It has to be worth a gamble for that sort of money, you may win, but at least you won't lose much, I'll bet you could sell the mains transformer alone for

Jolly nice, sometimes its not all about the hardware

OOOh look he's turned up.

PM me, I may be interested in the Beomaster, depends on your distance to me and the condition
-
It certainly is a nice sounding unit and it has a very good radio section, very sensitive, and one advantage is that you have an extra input due to the way the turntable was rigged onto the unit from which it was derived the Beomaster 3000, it does mean you can connect in a CDX without further hassle. The covers can be problematic, they are supposed

If it works with the second speaker connection I would leave it. There are two main ways this fault can occur, one is that the switches have been set back slightly, this happens when one or more of the switches has been bumped backwards - often this happens in transportation/shipping - if so then he swithc will not depress enough to operate the latch
-
Fixing the switch may not be easy, depends on what is wrong, if it is a switch that will not latch down, this is not an easy fix at all.
-
A Beomaster 3400 would be a suitable alternative, they are better in many respects, but do not tend to attract the high prices of the 6000.

I already knew how to get the BM apart, the belt themselves are an endless loop, but the thing that holds them doesn't seem to come apart. Actually, with a bit of careful fiddling, I got one belt off. I've measured one up, seems to be 30mm wide and around 425mm long, the tooth pitch looks to be vvery unusual, it isn't the normal 50%high
