Hi John: It would depend on how badly the lettering is gone. If partial lettering is removed.. ie bits of a character.... it is possible to use "Letrset" http://www.letraset.com/products/91-Lettering/ scratch off lettering to touch up the font. You may not need the exact font as you would rub off just enough to restore the letter. Then spray

I'm trying to remember the exact symptom... it was a while ago. I remember that the doors and lights function, as does the display but the tuner wouldn't tune. Also I think the tape mechanism sort of half works in the manner as described above. It would depend on which fuse is gone. The point being a blown fuse may not lead to a completely dead

That seems to be what happened to my unit when one of the fuses went. Next time it happens.... take off the back and check each one of the fuses. They are solder on types that look like brown capacitors. But of course you should poke around to determine why the fuse went in the first place. I think in my case it was a power surge. Derek

Hi: Have you tried plugging a pair of headphones? Do ALL functions on the BC2500 work? I think I had a similar problem... It was weird.. the Radio wouldn't tune, but the doors would work. Turns out one of the fuses went. There are several soldered onto the pcb in the back where the transformer/power supply is. Check to make sure the power supply

Hi Len: The balance control generally does not go. And the reason is they are seldom used. Most users set them once and forget them. So unless he's pulled the tone control board out and verified that pot is bad... I would suspect something else such as the caps are the culprit. Recapping would fix many problems in that unit as they are unreliable

Hi, Did the rep actually inspect your Beomaster 1900? If not, most likely the BM1900 needs to be recapped. Much has been written on the 1900 in this forum. Do a search. It is rare for the balance controls to go. Some B&O service centers will not touch the 1900 because it is a lot of work. They just tell customers that due to parts shortage the unit

Hi: Do as Martin suggests... start with capacitors. Rectifier may or may not need to be changed. Earlier units had an underated rectifier, later ones seem to have had that problem corrected. This may solve all of your problems so start there. If still not well check for integrity of transistors on the touch switches. I struggled on a similar problem

You are awesome! These look great! Derek

Hi Leslie: Any plans to do panels (mirror and glass) for Beolink 7000? Derek

Hi: I have a beogram 3400 that is working but the left dust cover hinge has cracked. It is also missing a cartridge. If anyone is interested in it for parts, I'd be happy to send it for the cost of postage from Canada. If there any local B&O fans in Toronto that is interested, please drop me a note offline. Thanks, Derek
